Your privacy is the core principle of FileCodec. We've built this platform to ensure your data stays where it belongs: with you.

shield 100% Client-Side Processing

FileCodec is a serverless utility suite. This means every transformation, conversion, and edit happens entirely within your browser's memory. When you select a file, it is NOT uploaded to our servers; it is read locally by your computer.

No Data Collection

We do not store, view, or harvest your files, metadata, or personal information. Since files are processed locally, we physically cannot see the content of your documents or media.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use minimal local storage purely to remember your user interface preferences (such as Dark Mode). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics that profile your behavior.

External Libraries

Our tools are built on industry-standard open-source libraries (like PDF.js and SheetJS), which we host ourselves — no third-party servers are contacted when you use them. The one exception is the OCR tool (Scan Image Text), which downloads the open-source Tesseract.js engine and its language data from a public CDN the first time you use it. Your image itself is still processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
