About the PDF to Excel converter

Extract tabular data from PDF files into an Excel workbook (.xlsx) instead of copying cells by hand. The tool analyzes the position of text on each page to reconstruct rows and columns.

As with every FileCodec tool, the file is processed on your device only. Financial statements and reports never touch a server.

Frequently asked questions

How are tables detected?expand_more

The tool reads the position of every piece of text and groups it into rows and columns. Clean, grid-like tables convert best; heavily styled or merged layouts may need cleanup in Excel.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?expand_more

No — the PDF needs selectable text. For scans, run OCR first with the Scan Image Text tool, then rebuild the table from the extracted text.

What output format do I get?expand_more

A standard .xlsx workbook that opens in Excel, Google Sheets, and LibreOffice Calc.
